This is a new creation and an entirely new experience for me - the BLOG! So I have no idea where this is going or what it will encompass, but you've got to start somewhere! Enjoy the rant!
New day, new blog, new digs

Hellooo to you!
I have been thinking about doing a blog for a while now. It came up in Feb 2011 when I was reading "The Happiness Project" by Gretchen Rubin. Then again in April upon finishing my collaboration (Rock, Paper, Scissors and a Wee Bit O'Wire) with Mary A. Spytz (mental note: ask Mary what the A is all about) Mary said I had a way with words and I said maybe I could do a blog! Would anyone actually care what I had to say? Ah well, if not at least I can be comforted by the good purging of the soul that writing provides!
I was updating my artspan website for the first time in a year and a half (sad and true) and noticed just minutes ago this button that said BLOG. If that is not a sign that I should do it, then I don't know what is!
What can you expect? Well, I'm not entirely sure. I am going to finish my ramblings about YRAF 2011 and post those...probably a bit about the adventure getting our project to YRAF in my car and having it wilt on the drive. Maybe some venting about the trials of parenting two small kids while trying to satisfy that creative desire! Any ideas on balancing that act?
Maybe my first ramble is about to begin: My work room. We just moved to Cochrane from Hinton. It was as good a move as you could have. I was stressed about the kids reactions to the move, and they didn't even seem phased. But I am in great mourning over the loss of my fabulous work room in Hinton. It had 4 big windows! Tons of space! I had all my picture framing stuff in there plus my jewel bench. Lots of wall space for posting cool things (although in retrospect, I never did). Now I have an 11' x 7.5' delight painted cardboard box brown everywhere (even the ceiling!!!!) with one mini basement window that for some reason has bars on it. And good news! I can do the laundry while I'm soldering because the washer and drier is right there too! And the deep freeze. (I guess that is a positive though because I hoard plenty of baking there during Christmas and I'm not against eating frozen butter tarts). Sad and sorry.
Any ideas on making this a beautiful inspiring space????
Hmm. There it is. Might be my first blog if I can ever get it posted! That didn't hurt too much, did it?
Take care and adorn yourself accordingly!
Tracey
